The U.S. News Travel says that CAMELBACK MOUNTAIN is #1 of 12 things to do while in Phoenix. CAMELBACK MOUNTAIN is one of the best scenic spots for hiking in Phoenix. The highest point is 2704 feet high which is on the Summit Trail. This is a very steep trail . The Echo Canyon Trail and Cholla Trail are a little less steep and are 1.4 miles long while taking 1.5 to 3 hours to complete. CAMELBACK MOUNTAIN is also popular for rock climbing.

CAMELBACK MOUNTAIN got its name because of its shape. It looks like a camels head and hump. In the 1960’s the higher elevations were preserved from development and became a park.
