MANASOTA BEACH COTTAGES
Last weekend we had a spur of the moment idea to go to the beach. To our disappointment all of the hotel rooms on the beach in the area we wanted to stay were already booked. We were going stay in Venice and drive back and forth when we thought about this small place on the left just before going over the bridge at Manasota Beach. We went to our maps to figure out the name of this place and looked them look online. It said Saturday was available but not Friday and they have a 3 night minimum. The next morning we called them. By this time we were crossing our fingers (and toes) that they had something available. Then she said she had 1 room available and we could have it for 2 nights. Yay! We scored. Manasota Beach Cottages – Here we come!
A couple of days later we arrive at Manasota Beach Cottages. They are so cute – very colorful and beachy. Only a couple of blocks to the beach is awesome. Manasota Beach Cottages were built in 1950’s and 1960’s and consist of only 6 cottages. They are recently under new ownership and are in the middle of renovating all 6 cottages. The new owners are all about customer service and are doing a great job with the property.
As we entered Cottage #3 a new flat screen TV was to our left, a sofa that folds down to a single sleeper was in front of us. To our right was a table for 4 then a fully equipped kitchen. It also had a bedroom was a queen bed and bathroom. A special touch by the new owners was a basket of snacks and water bottles.
The owners told us that another guest found a megalodon tooth on their property a couple of weeks ago. He showed us the pictures and it was HUGE. One day I will find my own. We looked around the property and found a few small shark teeth. The next time I will use my shark tooth rake and sifter here.
It was so nice to be so close to the beach. You can walk to the beach from here all you need is a beach stroller to carry your beach chairs, umbrella, shark tooth rake, sifter, and sun screen.
