MANASOTA KEY BEACH, FLORIDA – SHARK TEETHING

[metaslider id=122]

My favorite beach in the world is MANASOTA KEY BEACH.  Yes it is in Florida.  It’s a hidden gem.  This is a public beach but it’s in more of a residential area with million dollar homes around it; no big hotels.  There are a couple of converted inns on the beach but that’s all.  I will talk about these motels or inns in other blogs.  The closest store is about 8 miles down the beach or back across the bridge a few miles.   MANASOTA BEACH is in Sarasota County and on North Manasota Beach Road.  It’s south of Sarasota and north of Engelwood.

Manasota Beach has lifeguards on duty 7 days a week year round from 10am-4:45pm.   They have public restrooms, outside showers, picnic tables, a reservable picnic shelter, and a boat ramp across the road.  Many people enjoy Manasota Beach for swimming, walking, boating, fishing, shelling, and most popular shark teething.

If your looking for a busy popular beach with a lot of activity, this is not the beach for you.  But if you like a layed back beach with lots of shells and shark teeth then this is your beach. You will need a beach cart for your beach chairs, umbrella, shark tooth rake, and sifter. Check out these beach carts.

On the night of the 4th of July we go to the jetties which is only a few miles from Manasota Key.  They have the best firework display that I’ve ever seen.  People lineup all up and down the beach.  It’s a great FREE night of fun!

When we go to Manasota Beach we usually camp at ROYAL COACHMAN RV RESORT.   This is an awesome campground.  Royal Coachman is only 11 miles from Manasota Beach.  They have lots of amenities:  bike trails, swimming pool, fitness center, mini golf, volleyball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, basketball, tennis courts, bocci ball, picnic area, fishing, and more.  The rate is about $50.00 a night when the snowbirds are gone.  There are some RV membership clubs that can save you alot of money if you camp a lot.  We joined one and paid $22.00 a night.  It paid for itself the 1st week we used it.  This is the cheapest way to go and the beach is FREE! Take your tennis rackets for lots of fun. Here are some tennis rackets you may like.
