When we arrived in PHOENIX, ARIZONA the first place we visited was CAVE CREEK.  This is a quaint little town.  It’s about 25 miles northeast of PHOENIX.  CAVE CREEK has many historic buildings and artifacts in town.  The Tubercular Cabin which is in the CAVE CREEK MUSEUM is in the National Register of Historic Places.  Also two other historic places are now restaurants today.  One is the CAVE CREEK SERVICE STATION; its better known as Big Earl’s Greasy Eats and is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places.  The other converted to a restaurant is the CAVE CREEK INN.

We had dinner at a place called THE HORNY TOAD.  It’s a western restaurant and bar.  They service American food.  Food prices are average.  Food was just ok but it was a cool place, atmosphere was good, and service was friendly.  Some days they have live music.  Check them out at www.thehornytoad.com This is a big tourist spot bring your camera. If you’re looking for a new camera check these out.

We also stopped at a place called THE HIDEAWAY GRILL.  This is a very friendly biker bar.  They make everyone feel welcome here.  Some nights they have an open mic.   You can look them up at www.hideaway-usa.com

A place that looks and sounds really cool is BUFFALO CHIP SALOON AND STEAKHOUSE.  They have a dance hall and mini rodeo.  Here you can eat, drink, dance, take dance lessons, watch a mini rodeo, and  ride a bull.  YES, ride a bull!  You can get on a real bull and ride.  The food is BBQ and steaks.  www.buffalochipsaloon.com
