  • RIVER RATZ CAFE

I’m not sure anyone has heard of this place.  It’s in Central Florida about 12 miles northeast of BROOKSVILLE, FLORIDA in the city of Nobleton, Florida on the Withlacoochee River.   And if you don’t know where Brooksville is,  it’s 1 hour northeast of Tampa and 1 1/2 hours northwest of Orlando.  This is a cool little riverside cafe.  We drove past it while driving from Orlando to Brooksville.  It catch our eye so on our way by back to Orlando we stopped in to check it out.  It’s nothing fancy but has character.  The cafe is only open on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays from 11am-7pm.  You can rent…

  • ORLANDO ATTACKS – ONE YEAR AGO

[metaslider id=1435] This is my follow up to the ORLANDO TERRORIST ATTACK.  One year ago and this city has come together like no other.  Its amazing how tragedy brings all types of people together as ONE.  LOVE is what its all about. The ORANGE COUNTY REGIONAL HISTORY CENTER has done a wonderful job displaying many of the things people left at all of the memorials in the days and months after the attack.  Now that this exhibit has ended these items will return to storage till the permanent location is built. I hope you will enjoy my pictures as we all continue to heal and become stronger. [metaslider id=1424]

  • VICTORY CASINO NEW YEAR’S EVE CRUISE 2018

I love going on this cruise.  It’s a great deal for your buck if you are looking for something to do on NEW YEAR’s Eve.  It’s $50.00 per person and sells out quickly every year.  You get on the boat, open bar the whole time, entertainment, dancing, breakfast snacks at 1:00am, champagne at 12:00, party favors,  and at midnight hundreds of balloons are dropped with 200 prizes being given away.  One year I won a yeti cooler.  This year I received 2 hotel stays at Embassy Suites and a gift card to Icebar. • BLUEBERRY FESTIVAL

Many different cities have BLUEBERRY FESTIVALS.  This year I went to the BLUEBERRY FESTIVAL in BROOKSVILLE, FLORIDA.   Brooksville is about 1 1/2 hours northwest of Orlando and 1 hour northeast of Tampa.  Some parking was FREE and some was  $5.00.  Festival admission was $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children, under 12 was FREE.  This has been my favorite BLUEBERRY FESTIVAL yet.  I think this was the Sixth Annual.  They did a great job.  The festival was 2 days, a Saturday and Sunday.  They have it in their downtown area, up and down the streets.  The festival offered lots of entertainment, live music and dancing, magic shows, dog shows,…

  • TORTILLA FLAT

TORTILLA FLAT is a really cool  place.  They say LOCATION – LOCATION – LOCATION!!!   This place has the location.  They are in Maricopa County Arizona.  This is the last surviving stagecoach stop on the APACHE TRAIL.  It’s about half way through the Apache Trail drive so it makes for a very nice break in the drive to stretch your legs and get a drink and bite to eat.  I found that the food is just ok and the service is horrible.  The servers don’t care if you are there or not.  It’s still worth visiting because it’s unique and a great place to stretch your legs and get a drink.  The bar…

  • Royal Palm Railway Experience Mt Dora

Last night we took the Ghost Train in Mt Dora. It was a fun night with some great entertainment. We got on the train just outside of Mt Dora and rode it into town where we did a walking tour through town and in the lobby of the Lakeside Inn. The train was decorated to be spooky and true ghost stories were told to us through out the ride. The Royal Palm Railway Experience has a great thing going. It could be even better if they took us inside some of the haunted buildings or rooms in the Lakeside Inn. Also it would be awesome if it was interactive with…
