LAKE PLEASANT – ARIZONA
On our last day in ARIZONA we decided to rent a boat and explore LAKE PLEASANT. It’s located about 30 miles from Phoenix and is the largest lake in the Phoenix area at over 10,000 acres of water. The average depth is 70 feet and the deepest point is 260 feet at the dam. This lake has a lot to offer with boating, skiing, jet skiing, picnic area, camping, and restaurant of the water. CARNIVAL SUNSHINE – EXOTIC SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN
I love cruising! This was my second cruise and my second blog. We cruised out of Port Canaveral on the CARNIVAL SUNSHINE on a 8 day to the SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN. This cruise was less than $90.00 per day per person for the week. Keep in mind that’s room, all day and night entertainment, ALL the food you could eat, and transportation to all the islands. THE SMOKEY MOUNTAINS
We decided to go on a road trip through the GREAT SMOKEY MOUNTAINS. We started from North Carolina all the way through to GATLINBURG, TENNESSEE. If we went the interstate it would take 2 1/2 hours to get to GATLINBURG but if we drove through the national park it would take us 4 to 5 hours; however that wasn’t even an option. We were ready for a long beautiful drive. Ok, I think the highest speed limit I saw was 45mph and many times it was only 10-15mph. While being a kid in the early 70’s I loved the FLINTSTONES. I would hurry home from school every day just to watch the FLINTSTONES. Even through the many years it has remained my favorite cartoon. Most people today, young or old, know who the FLINTSTONES are. Before going to Arizona I found out that just south of the GRAND CANYON was a small place called BEDROCK CITY. ORLANDO HISTORY CENTER
This is the ORLANDO HISTORY CENTER. Who knew?? I’ve lived here for over 30 years and I never knew it was here. The history center had FREE admission for a couple of weeks while they had the Orlando terrorist attack items displayed. While I was there I checked out what the ORLANDO HISTORY CENTER has to offer. I was quite surprised. Here’s a sample of some of it. They also have a replica of a court room from many years ago. One of the tables has the name of TED BUNDY engraved in it. CAMELBACK MOUNTAIN – ARIZONA 2017
[metaslider id=2042] The U.S. News Travel says that CAMELBACK MOUNTAIN is #1 of 12 things to do while in Phoenix. CAMELBACK MOUNTAIN is one of the best scenic spots for hiking in Phoenix. The highest point is 2704 feet high which is on the Summit Trail. This is a very steep trail . The Echo Canyon Trail and Cholla Trail are a little less steep and are 1.4 miles long while taking 1.5 to 3 hours to complete. CAMELBACK MOUNTAIN is also popular for rock climbing. SEAFARER BEACH RESORT
I have to say SEAFARER BEACH RESORT is now my favorite place to stay in MANASOTA KEY. Its located on MANASOTA BEACH between VENICE and ENGLEWOOD. This area isn’t crowded, nor does it have condos and high buildings around it. It is surrounded by million dollar homes and a public beach to one side. The closest shopping is 8 miles down the beach or back across the bridge a few miles. The SEAFARER only has 9 units. 5 of the units are one bedroom and 4 are studios. MANASOTA KEY BEACH, FLORIDA – SHARK TEETHING
My favorite beach in the world is MANASOTA KEY BEACH. Yes it is in Florida. It’s a hidden gem. This is a public beach but it’s in more of a residential area with million dollar homes around it; no big hotels. There are a couple of converted inns on the beach but that’s all. I will talk about these motels or inns in other blogs. The closest store is about 8 miles down the beach or back across the bridge a few miles. ORLANDO TERRORIST ATTACK
[metaslider id=1308] Hello Everyone I know this is a travel and adventure blog; however being that I live in Orlando I feel compelled to stop everything and honor all of the victims from the terrorist attack one year ago today (July 12, 2016) These victims were mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, some were straight and some were gay, and all were loved by many.
